My First Website
Yo,
Like many in my profession, I have decided to create a blog where I can post my personal projects and thoughts. This means that I'll have to tidy up my public Github projects in case anyone has a peek.
I decided to use Next.js as the front-end library for this website and Vercel to host it. I am not a web developer by trade but I'll use this as a space to tinker and experiment. For now, this site is basically the Next.js tutorial. It allows me to write blogs in markdown and simply publish them.
I'll also use this space to write about any interesting articles I've read and maintain a list of them for future reference. Don't be surprised if you notice most of the articles were posted on HN.
I'll probably also make a page for books that I have read recently to encourage me to a) read more and b) reflect on what I have read. Often I rave about a wonderful book I've read and six months later I can barely say more than two sentences about why I enjoyed it so much and what struck a chord with me.
For example, the book Educated by Tara Westover is an incredible memoir. In it, there is a quote "The skill I was learning was a crucial one, the patience to read things I could not yet understand". This quote jumped out at me as I was reading this book at the start of a new job, enjoying the struggle of climbing the learning curve.
